Australian Senior Snooker Association tournaments that are state championships require that players must be a resident of the state being considered.

Consequently proof of residency and age may be required such as driving licence or other identification as proof of home address and DOB.

To qualify for any Seniors event, such as Over 50s, Over 60s or Over 70s, players must be the required age or older before the date of the event.

Volunteers wanting to join the ASSA team are most welcome.

Our aim is to have at least one delegate from each state on the ASSA committee who can serve as "tournament director"... previous experience and a good understanding of the rules are required.

TDs may be only one person but they are not alone. Nor is distance an issue when other committee members are only a phone call away and meetings can be conducted online.

The ASSA infrastructure will provide everything needed for event management from player registration to insurance for the event.

There are currently no seniors events in states other than QLD, so anyone not happy about the border requirement is welcome to volunteer as a representative for their state. With what the ASSA can provide all it will take is some responsibility.

To clarify, to play in ASSA tournaments for Queensland, the player must be a resident of Queensland.

I re-iterate this here because players may think in terms of clubs and their pennant team members and while some clubs such as Banora and Casino may be affiliates of the QBSA and playing Brisbane pennant, eligibility of the players in ASSA events is according to where the player resides. North of the QLD border they are Queenslanders, but south of the border they should look for ASSA tournaments for NSW.
