The venue for our 2023 Queensland Championships is the snooker room at Kybong Hall that is maintained by the Gympie Snooker Club.
Kybong Hall has 4 immaculate tables that were serviced and reclothed only last month by Allan Billiards to provide a standard suitable for state championships. Table #2 (lower left) was replaced with a newly restored table that is now reserved for tournaments.
Although well outside of the Brisbane suburban area, Kybong Hall is ideal for these events. The hall has ample parking, community kitchen, audience seating and a stage for administration from which we can live stream the finals using two cameras. The air-conditioning is second to none with humidity control. We made a point of avoiding the hottest days of the year with our first event, the Over 50s, being played in winter. But as cold as winter gets, the air-con provides cosy warmth, enabling us to play in shirts only.
