MountfordB	Posted - 04/12/2022 Not only are there so many different types of cuesport games, but the terminology around the globe is completely different. For example in USA they call: A cushion is a rail. A snookered ball is frozen, whether the object ball is hidden or the cue ball is on the rail. A table clearance is a run out. Right-hand side is right english. A double is a bank. Best of 17 is a race to 9.

RoscoeH	Posted - 06/12/2022 Very different rules also I hear. In snooker doubles, players are not permitted to converse while one is at the table. Yet in USA pool team play, even a non-player like a coach, can not only interrupt play with advice, but he can place chalk on the table as marker.
